Former striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has suggested the player would rather join Aston Villa than Manchester United.
Under the leadership of Unai Emery, the “Villagers” have become a leading team and have won a ticket to play in the UEFA Champions League this season, in contrast to the “Red Devils” who are still in a slump.
Asked if a move to his former ยูฟ่าเบท club Aston Villa is more appealing now than a move to Manchester United, he said: “100 per cent.”
“First of all, Aston Villa are playing in the Champions League. It’s every player’s dream to play in the Champions League – they’re a more consistent club.”
“If you look at Unai Emery now, he’s got the club. There’s no one above him to tell him to sign any player. He can sign whoever he wants. There’s no joke with the owners.”
“That’s stability. Is Manchester United a bigger club? Of course, a lot bigger. But at the moment for the players… going there would be a letdown for them.”
